Upon speaking with a Southwest Airlines representative, we were told that the flight was now sold out. When we clicked purchase, we got an error message and it said to call the airline. We purchased $345 in additional miles to have enough for the ticket and then continued to enter the rest of our information for the ticket. We were in the process of putting in the information to purchase the ticket and got a notice that we needed to purchase additional miles. We’ve bought more than 24 airline flights in the last year - not one was on Southwest. The hotel we finally found at 1 am cost more than that plus the hotel night we paid for in Albuquerque that we didn’t use. Oh yeah, we got a $100 voucher per ticket ($400). Five of us were able to get out the next morning, but we missed the last balloon flight of the festival and spent the next day (Sunday) just trying to get home. ![]() We were taking our grandchildren to the balloon festival in Albequerque when Southwest cancelled the second leg of our flight and dumped 6 of us in Houston at midnight without even telling us! My grandson saw his bag being pulled off the plane and the flight crew walked out, leaving 6 of us sitting on the plane!! We had to run after them and it was”-so sorry, call back tomorrow!” Yeah “good luck finding a hotel we can’t help”. That was before they ruined our family vacation and treated us poorly. ![]() Not Verified | I used to be a big fan of SW.

PPIs are more potent at acid suppression than H 2-receptor antagonists. This provides a degree of diagnostic confirmation and, in the case of suboptimal response, determines whether further investigation is required.įig Approach to management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease If symptoms persist despite simple measures, and significantly interfere with quality of life, a trial of a PPI is appropriate ( Fig). These treatments may be continued if they are effective, often with the addition of lifestyle modifications. Many patients try over-the-counter medicines such as antacids or H 2-receptor antagonists before they visit a doctor. 10 Drugs with anticholinergic or smooth muscle-relaxing properties may exacerbate reflux symptoms, as may drugs causing a chemical oesophagitis (e.g. Cessation of tobacco and alcohol are recommended but, while this may help some patients, it has not been shown to improve symptoms overall. 10 While routine global elimination of specific food groups triggering reflux is not recommended, patients should avoid foods that specifically trigger their symptoms. Other lifestyle modifications include elevation of the head of the bed and avoidance of meals 2–3 hours before bedtime if there are nocturnal symptoms. 3 A reduction in the body mass index of 3.5 kg/m 2 can result in nearly a 40% reduction in the risk of having frequent symptoms. These studies are only required in a minority of patients who are either refractory to treatment or are being assessed for surgery. Findings of gastro-oesophageal reflux induced by position or abdominal pressure are neither sensitive nor specific for GORD. There is no role for the barium swallow in the routine diagnosis of GORD. 12 However, it may have a role in high-risk groups such as the overweight and Caucasian males over 50 years old with no previous endoscopic investigation. 11 There is no evidence that routine screening for Barrett’s oesophagus improves mortality or is cost-effective. Biopsy may be needed to exclude eosinophilic oesophagitis. in overweight men over 50 years, however evidence that screening improves outcomes is lacking)Įosinophilic oesophagitis should be considered in patients, particularly men, in their 20s and 30s with a history of food allergy or atopy who present with dysphagia or refractory symptoms suggestive of GORD. For some chapters, I've included a quote that I particularly liked. I've written more about it in the chapter summary. I also really liked the last two chapters (17 and 18). (I haven't read it yet, it's on my to-read list.) I've heard that The Phoenix Project is written that way. In the book, three fictional characters (a manager, a developer and a tester) are discussing a problem. Even the entire novel that would teach you a topic (in this case software testing) by following different characters as the story develops. I really liked the chapters where the material is presented in the format of a story (9, 10, 12 and 13). First the main part, followed by a very short summary, then a lot of examples in the "common mistakes" section. I really like the format of each chapter. Surprisingly, those parts are maybe the most important ones. Some parts of the book are more psychology than testing. Some parts of the book are common sense, but it's still good to have it written down as a reminder and reference. When reading those parts, I was almost writing down everything stated in the book. I could recognize myself in characters from the examples, for more examples that I would like to admit. You can tell the author has many decades of experience. Please keep in mind that he published the book when he was 75 years old. It took a decade of experience for the lessons to sink in. When I first read Perfect Software I didn't understand it. Along with that, the movement feels a bit heavy and slightly sluggish, but it’s something you’ll quickly adjust to. There is no combat, although it is possible to die throughout the course of the game. I say this because Deliver Us The Moon is a very story-driven game. Out of these three facets, the exploration and collectibles seem to be where the majority of the development’s focus has been. The gameplay consists of exploring linear environments, gathering collectibles that provide story and context, and take in some light puzzle solving. ![]() LibreOffice is a free and open-source office application for Windows, Mac, Linux, and other operating systems. There are completely free office suites that sport good compatibility with Microsoft Office documents, spreadsheets, and presentation files. Developers on the Internet working on opensource code should be able to operate in peace without having to fear cyberstalking and doxxing like this. This situation can and should not ever happen again. People need to come together instead of being territorial and isolationist. We all can and should be better than this. And if certain doxxing sites or harrassment sites threaten that, we as a scene collectively need to counteract it and neutralize it. It doesn't mean that everyone has to start signing Code of Conducts for every project but it means that we should all strive for common sense respect and diplomacy towards one another. Developers are not going to risk putting themselves out there like this if this is the price that can be paid. What is the future of this scene if developers have to fear the reprisal of unruly mobs that will doxx them and tear them apart? There is no future, quite simply. It doesn't mean that projects necessarily have to follow along with one another at every juncture, and there can be disagreements, but we absolutely should be able to deal with things in a diplomatic and pragmatic way while retaining respect for one another. Let's not focus in the future on what divides us and who is the bigger coder, but rather how we as like minded individuals in a small developer pond can all work together. Developers need to be certain and comfortable that they can develop in peace while knowing that if they ever are the target of an attack, they can count on a community of likeminded colleagues that will defend them and bat for them. Because if we fail to do so, this small and niche subscene as we know it might cease to exist. we as a scene, all of us, from endusers to developers, need to ensure that situations like this can never happen again.
